Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 21 (HBTV): Shiv Sena leader Rahul Shewale on Monday claimed that several MLAs from Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress are in contact due to conflicts among the alliance partners of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Speaking to ANI, Shewale stated that these internal conflicts are affecting development work in the state.
'You all know that many MPs and MLAs of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are troubled due to the conflicts among the alliance partners. These conflicts are affecting the development works... So many MPs and MLAs (of MVA) who are disturbed are in our contact. They want to join Mahayuti... Currently, 15 MLAs of Shiv Sena (UBT), 10 MLAs of Congress, and many MPs of Shiv Sena (UBT) are in our contact,' the Shiv Sena leader said.
Earlier in December 2024, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey had hinted that his party, led by Uddhav Thackeray, might contest the upcoming Mumbai local body elections independently, without an alliance with Congress or Sharad Pawar's NCP.
Speaking to ANI, Dubey said, 'The suggestion that is coming from Shiv Sainiks across Maharashtra to the party high command is that we should contest the elections alone. By contesting alone, we get the benefit of two things: first, there is enthusiasm among all our workers everywhere, and second, more and more people get a chance to contest the elections.'
Dubey added, 'Shiv Sainiks are urging the party to fight the Mumbai elections alone, but the final decision has to be taken by the high command.'
Sanjay Raut also hinted that Shiv Sena (UBT) might contest the elections independently, as party workers were demanding it.
