Villagers in Mon district on October 7 hunted down a wild boar that allegedly attacked and killed two persons.

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, October 9 (HBTV): Villagers in Mon district on October 7 hunted down a wild boar that allegedly attacked and killed two persons.  

Two villagers of Kenjenshu village in Mon district were reportedly killed by a wild boar in separate incidents in October.  Report says the first incident happened on October 1 when a 42-year-old man was attacked by the wild boar. He was later taken to Mon district hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.     

The other incident happened the following day when the boar attacked a group of villagers and killed a 60-year-old on the spot. According to some reports, the victim was the village’s headman.   

On October 7, hundreds of villagers, armed with machetes and muskets, hunted down the boar and killed it. The carcass of the animal was brought to the village where angry villagers and families of victims, poured out their frustration upon the carcass. The carcass was later buried.
