Chumoukedima, Nagaland, February 15 (HBTV): Two individuals from Nagaland, Sentipokla Jamir and Sethrichem Sangtam, have won the "Bharat Gaurav Yuva Puraskar Award" for contribution to society.
Jamir and Sangtam were two among several young achievers from across India who were given recognition for excelling in various fields. Updates said Sangtam, of Farmers’ Innovation Centre in Tuensang, could not attend the event to receive the award personally.
Jamir won the award for her project 'Footprints', which helps elderly senior citizens living in the remote villages in Nagaland. It also supports some children to attend school through funding from selling homemade pickles.
The event was instituted by Bharat Vikas Sangam during the Bharatiya Samskruti Utsav-7. The award ceremony was conducted at Sedam in Karnataka on January 31, 2025.
The award is an honor given by the Bharat Gaurav Award Foundation to recognize outstanding young individuals who have made significant contributions to society, often focusing on youth leadership, nation building, and impactful work within their communities, essentially highlighting the achievements of young people who are actively working towards a better India; it aims to inspire and encourage the next generation of leaders.
