Sekrenyi, the premier festival of the Angami Nagas, signifies purification and sanctification of one's body, mind, and soul. It is a time when people seek God's blessings for a long and healthy life.

Nagaland’s Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, will be the chief host on February 26, while Kropol Vitsu, advisor for Prison, Printing & Stationery, Government of Nagaland, will be the host on February 25.

Khawakhrie, who serves as the convenor of Sekrenyi 2025, extended an invitation to all tribal Hohos based in Kohima to join the main celebration on February 26. He highlighted that Kohima, as the state capital, is home to all tribes of Nagaland, including Naga tribes from Manipur, and expressed a desire to have all of them participate in the festival. The APO also invited tourists in and around Kohima to witness the grand celebration.

Ltu, member of the Sekrenyi 2025 committee, stated that this year’s celebration will emphasize showcasing the rich and diverse culture and traditions of the Angami people.

‘This will be a significant opportunity for everyone to witness how the Angami people practice our culture and traditions,’ he said.

As part of the festivities, stalls will be set up by four ranges to display traditional attires and artifacts, Angami cuisine, and delicacies. Additionally, there will be stalls featuring vegetables, fruits, a coffee bar, and a photo booth, offering visitors an immersive cultural experience.
