During his address at the event, the Governor paid tribute to the founder of Sikhism, describing Guru Nanak as a spiritual luminary who 'left an indelible mark on the sands of time.'

'Guru Nanak's philosophy emphasized "Ik Onkar"—the belief in one God and the recognition of the divine presence in all humanity. His teachings urge us to build a society founded on justice, tolerance, and harmony, paving the way for peace and unity in our diverse world,' he said.

Highlighting the relevance of Guru Nanak's teachings in contemporary times, Ganesan added, 'By aligning societal structures with Guru Nanak's principles, a more equitable, peaceful, and sustainable world can emerge. His teachings provide an eternal framework for building societies committed to justice, peace, and unity. This message resonates even louder in an era of extraordinary potential and profound challenges.'

The Governor also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Sikh community across India, praising their spirit of enterprise, service, and sacrifice.

'The Sikh community has consistently demonstrated remarkable courage and dedication. Their contributions to India's cultural, technological, and agricultural progress are commendable. Sikh soldiers and citizens have bravely defended our nation and continue to inspire all Indians,' he said.

He further commended the Sikh community in Nagaland for their integration and contributions to the state's development.

'In Nagaland, the Sikh community has seamlessly integrated into the cultural and economic fabric of the state. Through trade, education, healthcare, and community service, they have actively supported the state's growth. Their Gurudwaras are not just places of worship but symbols of unity and service, welcoming everyone with open arms,' he noted.

Concluding his address, the Governor called for continued inspiration from Guru Nanak's teachings.

'Let us reaffirm our commitment to fostering a world rooted in love and mutual respect, fulfilling the higher ideals of selfless service to humanity,' he urged.

On behalf of the people of Nagaland, Governor Ganesan extended his gratitude to the Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee and the Punjabi Committee of Dimapur for organizing the event and providing an opportunity to reflect on Guru Nanak's enduring legacy.
