Illegal immigrants: NSF serves Nagaland govt 14 days ultimatum; Naga UGs told not to interfere

Chumoukedima, Nagaland, September 6 (HBTV): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has served the government of Nagaland 14 days to implement the Inner Line Permit across Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts. Failure to do as demanded will invite further course of action, the NSF stated in a press statement to the media.

The NSF has also warned the Naga underground groups not to interfere in this action. Any group or entity that has provided patronage or safe haven to non-locals must cease immediately, the NSF stated.

The students’ organization stated: ‘Reports of these immigrants creeping into our state must be met with immediate action. We call upon our federating units and subordinate bodies to rigorously monitor and curb any such flow. Vigilance is no longer optional; it is a matter of survival. The NSF urges every Naga to remain alert, report suspicious activities, and extend their fullest cooperation in stopping this demographic invasion.’

Further, the NSF issued ‘a clear and unambiguous message’ to all Naga political groups not to interfere in the rightful exercise of the federating units and subordinate bodies of the NSF in defending the future of the people.

‘Any group or entity that has provided patronage or safe haven to non-locals must cease immediately. We will not tolerate any interference that compromises the efforts of the NSF to protect the Naga homeland from this growing menace.’

Lamenting that the government of Nagaland continues to shirk from responsibility to take action, the NSF has served an ultimatum of 14 days to the government to extend the ILP regime across Dimapur, Chumukedima, and Niuland. If the government fails to implement ILP across the three districts, the NSF is prepared to take other course of action, the statement declared.
