Chumoukedima, Nagaland, March 30 (HBTV): The ministry of Home Affairs has declared eight districts and 21 police station jurisdictions in five other districts of Nagaland ‘distrubed areas’ with effect from April 1, 2025.
The status of the disturbed area, decreed under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act of 1958, is for a period of six months. It had come into effect from October 1, 2024, the Gazette of India stated in a March 30th handout.
A review of the law and order situation in the state of Nagaland has been undertaken, it stated.
Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek and Peren districts are disturbed areas. The jurisdictions of Khuzama, north Kohima, and south Kohima; Zubza and Kezocha police stations in Kohima; Mangkolemba, Mokokchung-1, Longtho, Tuli, Longchem, and Anaki-C police stations in Mokokchung; Yanglok police station in Longleng district; Bhandari, Champang, and Ralan police stations in Wokha district; Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto, and Aghunato police stations in Zunheboto district are declared disturbed areas.
The status has been decreed for a period of six months from April 1, 2025 unless withdrawn earlier, the Home Ministry stated in the order.
