Chumoukedima, Nagaland, June 28 (HBTV): Another heavy vehicle has been snagged at the narrow turn along the Kohima-to-Imphal National Highway-2 in Lerie in Kohima. Visuals on Friday, June 28, showed a fuel tanker stuck right on the road with its left rear wheels just tethering on the edge.

Reports said the stuck vehicle has hindered traffic, causing a traffic jam along the entire route. A portion of the road near the curve is also said to show signs of disintegrating, which could pose a danger to people and property if authorities do not take action.

Earlier on June 23, another heavy, eight-wheeled truck had slid off the road at the curve following a mudslide. The vehicle was believed to have veered to the edge on the muddy surface after soil fell from the road’s gradient.

Visuals showed what appeared to be a mound of mud that may have fallen off the gradient of the highway’s shoulder. Images circulating on social media showed the left rear wheels of the truck dangling on the edge. The area is said to be prone to accidents especially during rainy seasons. There were no reports of casualties or collateral damage at airtime.
