Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 27 (HBTV): Sanjay Dutt will next appear in the horror-comedy The Bhootnii, which is set to release in theatres on April 18. The makers announced the project by unveiling a teaser of the film.
Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev, the film explores the horror-comedy genre with an infusion of heart-pounding action. Alongside Sanjay Dutt, the ensemble cast includes Mouni Roy, Palak Tiwari, Sunny Singh, and Aasif Khan in pivotal roles.
In the teaser, Sanjay Dutt appears in an action-packed avatar, wielding two swords to battle evil spirits. The film is also expected to blend romance with horror, as actor Sunny Singh is seen pleading with The Bhootnii to return his love.
At the beginning of the video, the Munna Bhai actor is heard reciting lines from the Bhagavad Gita, stating that a person's soul remains immortal even after the body's demise. The movie is jointly produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, with Hunar Mukut and Maanayata Dutt serving as co-producers.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of this horror-comedy, with Mouni Roy's performance already drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt has also joined the cast of the highly anticipated Baaghi 4. In the first-look poster of his character, the actor appears menacing as he sits on a gothic-style throne, holding a lifeless woman in a blood-stained gown. His fierce expression, paired with a bloodied white shirt and disheveled hair, enhances the poster’s dark and intense vibe. The tagline on the poster reads: 'Every Aashiq is a Villain.'
Baaghi 4 will be directed by Kannada filmmaker A. Harsha, marking his Bollywood debut. The film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson banner, is scheduled to release in theatres on September 5, 2025.
The Baaghi franchise began in 2016 with its first film, directed by Sabbir Khan. An action-packed thriller, it was inspired by the 2004 Telugu movie Varsham and the 2011 Indonesian film The Raid: Redemption, starring Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sudheer Babu.
The second instalment, Baaghi 2, was released in 2018 and directed by Ahmed Khan. A remake of the Telugu movie Kshanam, it featured Tiger Shroff alongside Disha Patani, Manoj Bajpayee, and Randeep Hooda.
In 2020, Baaghi 3 was released, again directed by Ahmed Khan. It starred Tiger Shroff, Riteish Deshmukh, and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.
